About The Position

Novacel is seeking a Business Development Manager / Outside Sales Manager / Account Manager to drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth within an assigned territory. This is a field-based, hunter-focused role owning the front end of the sales cycle—from prospecting and discovery through quoting and initial customer onboarding—while also building long-term customer relationships. This role is ideal for an experienced outside sales professional who thrives in a technical manufacturing environment, enjoys face-to-face selling, and excels at developing and growing customer partnerships. Candidates must live within a commutable distance to Troy, Ohio. No relocation assistance is provided.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of outside B2B sales or new business development experience
  • Proven success selling within manufacturing, industrial, or engineered product environments
  • Strong track record of new customer acquisition and territory growth
  • Ability to conduct on-site sales calls and travel regularly within assigned territory
  • Experience with CRM systems and structured pipeline management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling engineered materials, films, coatings, or custom manufacturing solutions
  • Background working with OEMs, Tier suppliers, or industrial manufacturing customers
  • Familiarity with RFQ-driven sales cycles and technical pricing models
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

  • New Business Development Identify, pursue, and close new customer opportunities aligned with Novacel’s manufacturing capabilities
  • Execute a structured territory plan focused on new logo acquisition
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through cold calling, field visits, referrals, and industry networking
  • Lead on-site customer meetings to understand applications, processes, and decision drivers
  • Outside Sales & Account Management Own the sales process from initial contact through RFQs, pricing, negotiation, and first order
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for new and developing accounts
  • Build long-term relationships to drive repeat business and account expansion
  • Partner with Sales Engineering, Operations, and Quality to deliver customer-specific solutions
  • Pipeline & Market Intelligence Maintain accurate CRM activity, pipeline tracking, and sales forecasts
  • Meet or exceed targets for new accounts, revenue, and pipeline growth
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs
  • Represent Novacel at customer meetings, plant tours, and industry events
