About The Position

The Business Development Manager at Caterpillar Inc. is a subject matter expert responsible for the Command for Dozing and Semi-Autonomous Dozing product within the Cat MineStar technology suite. This role involves understanding industry trends, capturing customer feedback, creating marketing and sales materials, and supporting regional sales teams. The position requires direct interaction with global customers and entails significant travel to execute business development strategies effectively.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of surface mining methods and high precision mining technology, particularly in dozing applications.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to create customized solutions based on customer needs.
  • Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools to synthesize information from various stakeholders.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and analyze situations critically.
  • Effective communication skills, including public speaking capabilities.
  • Negotiation skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Relationship management skills to maintain healthy working relationships with clients and peers.
  • Strategic thinking to identify key success factors for the organization.
  • Knowledge of value selling principles to differentiate product offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Support regional sales teams and customer requests for information about the Command for Dozing product suite.
  • Generate marketing and sales materials including technical documents and marketing programs.
  • Gather market information and assess competitive issues and market dynamics.
  • Secure a leadership role within trade associations and technical bodies relevant to the sector.
  • Coach junior team members and assist with key staff recruiting.
