About The Position

The Business Development Manager, Finance, plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by leading strategic business development efforts across the Finance Business Unit. This role focuses on identifying and activating high-value opportunities, elevating the firm's brand presence, and driving client engagement through targeted, market-driven initiatives. Working closely with sector leaders, practice heads, and the broader business development team, the manager will execute initiatives that ensure a strategic, sector-focused approach. Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the competitive market landscape, knowledge of the Financial Sector and track record of aligning business development efforts with sector and client strategies.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred.
  • 6+ years of marketing or business development experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Experienced in managing core business development responsibilities, including RFP preparation, legal directory submissions, and overseeing collaboration across teams for executing events, conferences, branding, and external communications.

Nice To Haves

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with (or the ability to learn) firm marketing systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with generative AI tools.
  • Strong understanding of digital publishing and other forms of content creation, editing and dissemination.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of our Finance Business Unit and its clients to effectively drive strategic priorities.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with partners and associates to become a trusted advisor.
  • Lead the creation of customized Finance pitches, presentations, and RFP replies, in collaboration with the pitch team.
  • Collaborate with the partners, attorneys and other Business Development teams to deliver distinctive thought leadership that solidifies the firm's reputation as market leaders.
  • Support the onboarding of lateral partners.
  • Help implement business development initiatives and thought leadership campaigns that align with market and sector strategies.
  • Partner with global Business Development colleagues to drive cross-sector collaboration and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Market Intelligence team to deliver market and competitor insights that guide strategic planning and targeting.
  • Support the execution of high-impact branding initiatives, including events, speaking slots, CLEs and sponsored programs, in collaboration with the Events and Communications teams.
  • Oversee the development and timely submission of content for legal directories and awards.
  • Maintain and update BD materials and digital content to ensure consistency with the firm’s branding and messaging.
