Position Overview If you're interested in how engineering and consulting firms generate new business and build strong client relationships, this internship offers a front-row seat to the full sales cycle. You'll gain exposure to both inside and outside sales-shadowing our sales team as they qualify leads, manage opportunities, and engage with prospects in the field. From learning how proposals are crafted to supporting outreach efforts and industry events, you'll see exactly how growth happens in the A/E/C (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry. This role blends business development, marketing, and hands-on sales experience, giving you practical skills that translate directly into a career in professional services.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with social media platforms preferred.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks, stay on deadline, and work independently or in a team.
  • Comfortable engaging with clients and presenting yourself professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Observe how new business opportunities are identified, qualified, tracked, and developed in real time-both through inside sales activities and field interactions.
  • Gain hands-on experience using CRM tools to manage pipelines, monitor outreach, and follow up on client leads.
  • Learn how persuasive proposals are assembled, from gathering data and crafting content to shaping the final deliverable that wins work.
  • Support inside and outside sales efforts, including outreach campaigns, attending industry events, and accompanying team members on prospect visits.
  • Explore how marketing and communications strategies strengthen brand positioning and help stand out in a competitive market.
  • Capstone Project: You'll complete a specialized capstone project, such as a market research analysis, CRM optimization initiative, or client engagement strategy. This deliverable will serve as a showcase piece for your résumé and demonstrate your ability to apply business development skills to real-world scenarios.
