Based in New York City, you will be part of Swift’s 10-week internship. During your internship, you will work alongside a mentor and with a team who can help you develop your business sense. Swift’s Business Development team works with our community to drive the future of the payments and securities landscape. The team supports large, strategic partners as well as smaller users to promote usage and adoption of Swift products/services and industry standards. Business Development also ensures the “voice of the customer” is heard throughout the organization by maintaining positive relationships within Swift, across regions, teams, and HQ functions such as Strategy, Product, Communications, and Legal. To ensure continued connectivity, you will be assigned the following responsibilities: Work closely with Relationship Managers and Account Managers with their day-to-day tasks, with a focus on supporting existing clients and new client relationships. Learn about key initiatives at Swift such as: Swift Essentials, ISO 20022, Financial Crime and Compliance, digital ledger technology, and more. Support with outreach to clients on these topics where vital. Develop client presentations that uncover and synthesize client-specific information or market analysis. Collaborate with product, strategy, tech, and go-to-market teams during the pitch. Utilize their analytical and technical skills to analyze, interpret, and present data while turning it into comprehensible insights to help guide business development strategies and improve customer experience. Ensure sales best practices, including the qualification process and managing Salesforce profiles (opportunities, leads, pipeline, etc.) The Business Development internship is a phenomenal opportunity to learn about the finance industry, solve real-world problems, and gain invaluable experience! Project Description The Swift Business Development Intern will have the opportunity to collaborate on a real-world project with measurable results. This will serve as their final internship presentation for the department leadership team. With the world’s GDP flowing over Swift every three days, it’s imperative we continue to be laser passionate about achieving our priorities, such as operational excellence, uplifting the customer experience, innovation, and strengthening the way we collaborate with our industry to advance an inclusive global ecosystem. The BD intern will focus on analyzing approaches to achieving these goals, providing recommendations as to how we can refine them, using real data and analytics to support their conclusions, and ultimately supporting the BD organization. If time permits, you will have opportunities to take on additional projects to present to management (i.e., reporting on YTD KPI progress, etc.).
