The Account Executive is responsible for driving profitable growth by identifying, developing, and closing new client relationships for an operations management consulting firm. This role focuses on selling complex, high-value consulting engagements to senior and C-level executives across targeted industries, while expanding existing client relationships. The position partners closely with consulting leadership, subject matter experts, and delivery teams to shape solutions that address client operational challenges and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred
  • Understanding of how technical and tactical elements of large ticket “process improvement initiatives” are sold.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work with all levels of an enterprise.
  • Performance driven and self-motivated.
  • Adaptable to changing environments.
  • Professional in appearance and conduct
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, business, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of consultative selling experience, including the successful negotiation of large, complex, intangible consulting engagements.
  • Demonstrated experience across the full sales lifecycle: prospecting, discovery, proposal development, negotiation, closing, and account management.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of a company’s supply chain, process improvement, value stream mapping, and other contemporary consulting strategies.
  • Must be self -motivated, hard-working, resourceful, and passionate, with the ability to manage time and determined to succeed in an environment which requires strong team-work and cross functional interaction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate a compelling value proposition to stakeholders at all organizational levels, including executive leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a collaborative mindset and comfort working cross-functionally.
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Territory will include Northeast US and Eastern Canada. Additional industries and/or territories may be assigned at the discretion of management.
  • Generate new consulting revenue through proactive prospecting, qualification, and closing of opportunities within assigned industries and territories.
  • Expand existing client relationships by identifying follow-on work and long-term partnership opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline aligned with annual revenue targets.
  • Lead discovery conversations to understand client operational challenges, strategic objectives, and success metrics.
  • Ensure a high-quality client experience from initial engagement through handoff to the analysis team.
  • Collaborate with consulting leaders and subject matter experts to develop tailored solutions, proposals, and business cases.
  • Participate in feasibility studies, executive presentations, and steering committee discussions as needed.
  • Coordinate internal resources to support sales pursuits and ensure client requests are addressed accurately and efficiently.
