About The Position

The Business Development Executive at Gartner plays a crucial role in expanding the company's market presence by strategically acquiring new clients. This position involves building trust-based relationships with C-level executives, understanding their priorities, and delivering client value. The role encompasses the full sales cycle, from prospect identification to account transition, focusing on Mid-Size Enterprise clients with annual revenues up to $1 billion.

Requirements

  • 1+ years' B2B sales experience, preferably within complex, intangible sales environments.
  • Some business development or 'hunting' experience in a selling role is highly desired.
  • Experience selling to and/or influencing C-level executives.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Proven ability to manage and forecast a complex sales process.

  • Bachelor's degree desired.
  • Willingness to live within a commutable distance to one of Gartner's COEs.

Responsibilities

  • Seek out and drive new business opportunities with new-to-Gartner organizations across your territory, targeting Mid-Size Enterprise C-level stakeholders.
  • Convert viable prospects into active Gartner clients, owning the full sales conversation and negotiation.
  • Align the right combination of insight, guidance, and practical tools to bring value to the partnership.
  • Continually build a pipeline of high-quality opportunities to meet sales metrics and ensure KPIs are met.
  • Manage complex high-revenue sales across diverse business environments.
  • Own forecasting and account planning on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
