Business Development Engineer
About The Position
HMC Gears is looking for an experienced Business Development Engineer. As a leading worldwide supplier of critical gears and related components to the steel, aluminum, defense, aggregate, and mining industries, HMC is looking to expand our team to support current and new distributors and end-users. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong working knowledge of gearing, drivetrain systems, and other mechanical components. Preferred suitable qualifications would include a Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering Degree, field service work involving mechanical systems, or a proven foundation and understanding of gearing and drivetrain systems. Sales experience is a plus but not required.
Requirements
- Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering in heavy industrial or manufacturing applications
- 10+ years in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
- Up to 50% travel required

Responsibilities
- Actively participate in business development initiatives for HMC Gears
- Identify industry specific opportunities to support long-term growth
- Apply knowledge of each industry, market landscape, product, and processes to educate prospects and clients on the business value of HMC’s products and services
- Assist in identifying, negotiating, and finalizing deals and agreements with customers and collaborators
- Collaborate in the preparation, review, and finalization of business documents, contracts, and agreements
