The Business Development Engineer will work closely with Marketing, Sales, Engineering Services, TCC Materials and a variety of management personnel. The Business Development Engineer is responsible for generating profitable revenue and margin growth opportunities for the company through the specific functional duties noted below.

Requirements

  • Must be goal oriented, self-motivated, and organized.
  • Have knowledge of the concrete industry and related construction materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, designers, and owners.
  • Proficiently use a computer and programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM software.
  • Must prospect or make direct contact in pursuit of new specifiers.
  • Adherence to the core values and provisions of the Cemstone Employee Handbook.

Nice To Haves

  • BS degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering or Architectural Engineering registration preferred.
  • Engineers must have or be able to obtain Professional Licensure within 4 years.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an annual business plan based on demand, technical and strategic initiatives.
  • Generate weekly and quarterly reports outlining previous and upcoming activities.
  • Perform all actions outlined in the business development plan on time and in accordance with Corporate Priorities and Objectives.
  • Demonstrate leadership and a fiduciary responsibility to Cemstone while pursuing customer satisfaction, retention, and growth.
  • Market and promote Cemstone through various campaigns and utilize NRMCA resources for promotional purposes.
  • Promote Cemstone products and services to targeted audiences via technical presentations, seminars, and trade shows.
  • Advise and assist in ensuring that Cemstone products and services are specified on targeted projects.
  • Assist Sales Representatives in prospecting and developing new opportunities for value-added products and systems.
  • Review project documents and identify opportunities for project conversions.
  • Serve as a second line of support for Cemstone representatives and customers regarding engineering services.
  • Work with the estimating department in creating value-added proposals.
  • Manage, promote, and leverage Cemstone's relationship with strategic and 3rd party vendors.
