About The Position

Discovery is looking for a talented and passionate Business Development Director to join our dynamic biospecimen products sales team. As a Business Development Director, you will be an individual contributor, responsible for growing top line revenue and increasing market share by supporting the use of our products in the fields of BioPharma Discovery, Translational, and Clinical Research. This will be accomplished by comprehensive planning and executing sales strategies in your assigned territory. Requirements

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in a life science preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of field-based sales experience in Life Sciences, CDMO, or Biotech to biopharma customers.
  • Proven track record of achieving 100% of quota.
  • Ability to work with clients, actively listen to needs, and translate into opportunities.
  • Ability to build and nurture relationships with clients and potential clients.
  • Team-first attitude and passion to achieve Commercial Team and company-wide goals.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Docs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in human biospecimen, cell and gene therapy sales and/or applications preferred.
  • SalesForce.com experience is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, propose, and implement monthly, quarterly and annual territory plans to meet revenue goals and achieve quota attainment.
  • Generate new business through a high level of customer and prospect contact including frequent direct customer visits and extensive networking.
  • Actively manage a pipeline of 100 opportunities, keeping information up to date, and logging call notes from field activity
  • Communicate clearly to executive stakeholders including operations, marketing, SMEs, and project management teams, to ensure that prospects are provided with well-orchestrated and timely information to ensure successful closure of opportunities.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with assigned Project Manager towards attainment of territory goal and 100% customer success
  • Develop and maintain deep product knowledge to sell consultatively and make recommendations to prospective clients on solutions that best meet their needs.
  • Maintain the integrity of the data in the CRM with updated contact and account information
  • Demonstrate strategic business awareness of the market to differentiate Discovery brand from the competition.
  • Attend conferences, trade shows, and seminars as required.
  • Respect the privacy of the personal information of patients, co-workers, and all individuals with whom the Company interacts.
