In this role, the Director will work closely with DFCI principal investigators and researchers, as well as professionals specializing in deal transactions, legal matters, business development, and intellectual property. The responsibilities include evaluating DFCI technologies at various development stages, assessing their clinical and commercial potential, and driving the commercialization of these projects into startups with minimal oversight. This involves collaborating with DFCI's IP counsel to develop intellectual property strategies, shaping commercial strategies through market landscape assessments, and identifying new partnerships with venture capital firms and other entities. The Director will also interact with potential investors to pinpoint key value inflection points and exit strategies, work with the licensing team to negotiate complex licensing agreements, and track project timelines and deliverables. Additionally, the role includes creating preliminary business strategies, pitch decks, and marketing materials to facilitate potential investments. Mentorship and guidance to the DFCI community regarding business development and technology commercialization are also key aspects of this position, contributing to a culture of innovation and technology translation at DFCI.
