About The Position

The Business Development Director for Aerospace will report to the VP/ Business Segment Leader – Aerospace (BSL-A). The BSL-A reports to the President of HandyTube. The Business Development Director is responsible for the target and cultivation of new relationships in the Aerospace market along with growing revenue in existing Aerospace accounts. This candidate will bring a “hunter” mindset and approach to their daily standard work as they will be responsible for developing, building and guiding sales execution across the segment. This leader is expected to work closely with and provide advice to the senior leadership on the sales planning process which includes the development of commercial strategies and individual sales targets. Through a thorough understanding of the markets served, appropriate channels, and customers’ businesses, the Business Development Director will identify solutions utilizing HandyTube’s products and services that translate into closed, contracted business relationships. The Business Development Director will be a proven strategic commercial leader who will drive significant contributions to the bottom line. The ideal candidate will have a mix of both commercial and operational experience, and eagerly navigates within all cross-functional silos. Hands-on understanding of market dynamics, customer and product knowledge, and the ability to impact key performance metrics will be a decided benefit in setting the strategies in the Aerospace market. Qualified candidates will be characterized by their highly collaborative managerial style coupled with a natural curiosity and inquisitiveness. The successful candidate must be comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced, and multi-channel environments where product mix and delivery models are evolving. The candidate will be recognized for their agile approach that is transparent and open, which will allow him/her to adapt to the rapidly changing competitive landscape. Success in this role will be defined by the establishment and growth of targeted new and existing customers that will ultimately grow the bottom line as well as position HandyTube as a viable leader in the Aerospace Industry.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in engineering is required; an MBA is preferred – not required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of sales experience, ideally on a global scale.
  • Strong leadership, expert influencer, strong time management skills, effective communication, and process-oriented skills with experience building and developing strong external customer relationships.
  • Strong acumen in the Aerospace market.
  • Ability to establish credibility quickly and interface effectively at all organizational levels, across geographies and cultures.
  • Collaborative, passionate and customer focused.
  • Strong drive and work ethic. Strategic and analytic capabilities to match day-to-day hands-on work.
  • Financial acumen and the ability to interpret and effectively communicate pricing data to internal and external customers.
  • Experience in complex, highly dynamic environments where the need to learn quickly and contribute immediately is required.
  • A strategic thinker who understands key industry trends and can drive execution of strategies; rapidly identifies key issues in a complex situation.
  • Creates and executes daily standard work processes, set priorities and regularly exceeds goals.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Safety as the Number 1 priority of HandyTube Corporation.
  • Build, develop, and drive the commercial strategy focused on aligning customers with an optimized sales plan, and execute accordingly.
  • Establish the long-term growth plan for the Aerospace market.
  • Establish a disciplined, high-velocity, and process-oriented sales culture that is focused on business growth and goal achievement.
  • Collaborate effectively with HandyTube’s Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and the rest of the organization to create alignment on growth initiatives, increase customer satisfaction, and improve our customer scorecards and KPIs.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the customers’ business models and their unique challenges to growth or competitiveness and utilize this knowledge to facilitate a sound strategy and win new growth opportunities.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through establishing a consistent communication plan.
  • Provide support to HTC Quality to facilitate quick responses to customer issues, product trials, and data collection activities. Liaise between HTC and the customer to ensure seamless communication throughout the RMA and RCA process.
  • Facilitate customer visits to HTC and provide plant tours to commercial and technical personnel to increase the level of confidence and secure additional business.
  • Work with HTC supply chain partners to develop special processes and expand our value-added services offerings.
