About The Position

Ready to shape the future of power and automation solutions? IPD is growing fast, and we have a great role for a Business Development gun to join our Strategic Solutions team at our brand new office in Canning Vale. Reporting to the General Manager of Strategic Solutions, you’ll work closely with Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Design Consultancies, as well as key Specifiers across major end-user industries. You will provide promote all the solutions IPD has to offer. You'll build valuable relationships, present our technology, and help secure specifications. As a key member of the Strategic Solutions team, you’ll engage with Consultants and Specifiers and have the opportunity to influence early project decisions, ensuring IPD’s products and solutions are front-of-mind with key decision-makers. Delivering compelling technical presentations and structured consultations to consultants, specifiers, and key stakeholders in the industrial and HVAC sectors — showcasing our innovative range including Power Distribution, Switchboard Systems, Busway, Power Monitoring, Automation, IIoT, Industrial Communications, Safety Solutions, and Variable Speed Drives & Motors. Partnering with portfolio specialists to present and position advanced solutions — such as Elsteel Techno, Critical Power, Surge & Lightning Protection, Cybersecurity and Industrial networks, HVAC systems, EV Charging, and Automation & Control — directly to consultant and specifier groups. Leveraging full access to the entire IPD Group portfolio and companies — unlocking the ability to bundle complementary solutions, deliver even greater project value, and create stronger, more comprehensive value propositions for clients. Securing strong written specifications that feature IPD products prominently in major project documents. Influencing project designs by effectively positioning IPD solutions. Building and maintaining a top-notch, up-to-date presentation library for your state, while collaborating closely with interstate Consultant & Specifier Business Development teams to ensure seamless national consistency and coverage. Providing valuable early project intelligence and insights to help shape IPD’s strategic decisions across business units.

Requirements

  • Qualifications in an Electrical Trade, Electrical Engineering preferred or relevant industry experience
  • Previous experience in Sales and Business Development, ideally within a technical or industrial environment, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proactive self-starter who thrives on autonomy and quickly picks up and masters new technologies and solutions.
  • Has a real passion for partnering with customers and assisting them to identify best-fit solutions to help solve their challenges and deliver maximum project value.
  • A strong understanding of the contract and tendering processes
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present IPD solutions to engineering based audiences
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software; Strong communication, negotiation, time management and planning skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel to clients as required
