About The Position

Assists Director with Business Development and sales of the commercial products for the Bank. Conduct relationships and activities consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations. Assists in developing short-term and long-term marketing strategies that will promote all services and products favorably for the bank. Works in conjunction/cooperation with the Bank’s Marketing Director to develop a market strategy and establish marketing objectives for each product. Ensures that a marketing and sales awareness prevails bank-wide; supports all lines of business, including Retail, Lending, Trust, Central Investment Advisors, Insurance, etc. Works in conjunction/cooperation with Managers of all business lines to support the bank’s sales efforts through effective programs. Maintain relationship with clients to ensure financial needs are met and expectations. Actively listen to customers and maintain a friendly, positive and professional attitude. Resolve difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. Look for creative ways to make customers feel appreciated and special. As directed by supervisor, call on potential and/or existing clients to develop new business and increase or retain relationships with current clients. Make effective referrals to business units for traditional and non-traditional banking products and services. Actively take advantage of all sales opportunities, cross-selling bank products and services to new and existing customers, ensuring recommended products and services meet needs of customer. Follow up on Business Analyzer Product Form. Assists in the development of departmental budgets for reaching the bank’s goals and objectives. Maintains and reports on the status of marketing expenses. Ensure that the goals and objectives, in consultation with the holding company and bank’s officers, are in keeping with the bank’s policies and procedures. Assist with the development, and implementing production and distribution of customer announcements of new products and services through newsletters and special mailings. Reviews journals, articles, publications and other material in order to stay apprised of regulatory and legal changes pertaining to the marketing functions, to keep abreast of new developments and to ensure that departmental policies and procedures comply with all applicable regulations. Maintains professional contacts and knowledge base of skills within and outside of the bank; keeps up with issues, trends and developments of the financial industry. Reviews products and services offered by the competition and ensures a positive competitive response by the bank. Maintains professional and community relations to increase the bank’s visibility and to provide new business development opportunities. Attend functions outside of banking hours as a representative of the Bank. Research, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity. Submits suggestions and changes to meet the market’s competitive challenge, as necessary. Attend all required training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in, business administration or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience required; experience performing sales/business development for a financial institution or similar organization preferred.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain changing product information for all products supported.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with a broad range of employees across the organization, as well as external counterparts.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write communications clearly, concisely, and effectively.
