RFM is looking for a highly motivated Business Development and Pursuit Specialist to drive new business growth within the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry. This critical role is responsible for the full pursuit lifecycle, from researching and identifying opportunities and leading firm participation in industry events to managing and developing compelling RFQ/RFP responses. This position leads the hands-on development of proposals, presentations and new business materials. This team member will track all stages of pursuits, conduct opportunity research and contribute to the new business presentations. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the role requires strong project management skills to prioritize effectively, manage timelines and produce high-quality materials with limited oversight. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related degree. 5-7 years of experience in marketing and business development in the A/E/C industry. Comprehensive understanding of the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry. Involvement in professional and community organizations including SMPS is a plus. Essential Functions: Business Development Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, partners and prospects to foster new business opportunities. Coordinate and schedule introductory, check-in and follow-up meetings between RFP stakeholders and potential clients. Build and maintain market specific contact database for new business opportunities. RFQ/RFP Response Development: Partner with firm leadership to develop creative, client-focused proposal and pitch strategies. Lead and participate in all stages of the pursuit process; from identifying/qualifying potential clients and projects, managing and driving client relations through RFP/proposal strategy. Lead RFP response planning for project proposals, create timelines, understand/capture the scope of work and manage pursuit meetings to support the process. Plan and prioritize tasks, ensuring all deadlines are met. Review RFPs to identify and communicate critical requirements, submission formats, deadlines and any specific requirements outlined in the RFP. Conduct research to support strategy and pre-positioning. Oversee and contribute to the development, layout and production of proposals, qualifications packages and other collateral, ensuring consistency and quality control. Skills & Experience: Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail with strong quality control and editing abilities to create compelling, creative, compliant responses to RFQ/RFPs. Strong organization and time management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects with varying deadlines with the ability to act with grace under pressure. Ability to respectfully collaborate with others, receive feedback, and work toward a shared end goal. Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and work independently with strong self-discipline. Motivated and proactive strategic thinker with commitment to efficiency. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, in particular, InDesign. Basic graphic design skills.
