Intrepid is a specialty investment bank and provides M&A, capital raising and strategic advisory services to entrepreneurs, family-owned companies, private equity sponsors and major corporations, through dedicated banking teams with deep industry sector experience and over three decades of experience. The firm is based in Los Angeles, with additional offices in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Charlotte. Intrepid is the middle-market advisory arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (NYSE: MUFG), one of the largest financial groups in the world. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details. The Buy-side Analyst will support Intrepid bankers by qualifying potential targets through qualitative research, utilizing publicly available information as well as proprietary information services leveraged by Intrepid. Specifically, the primary function of the Buy-side Analyst is to understand the criteria (products, markets, sales channel, etc.) that desirable target companies for a given strategy will have and identify those that best align with the criteria provided. The successful Buy-side Analyst will be detail-oriented, excellent at multi-tasking, and have a desire to learn about multiple industries as well as the strategies deployed by private equity groups and strategic acquirers to execute on value-creation strategies. Buy-side Analyst will be exposed to both buy-side and sell-side strategies at a middle-market focused investment bank. Responsibilities for the position may include assisting in the design and preparation of marketing, client and deal specific materials and reports for each project. Previous finance experience is not necessary as most research is qualitative in nature. You will be involved in all phases of origination including: Identifying suitable acquisition candidates through various research methods and tools Qualifying potential acquisition opportunities through conversations with decision-makers to determine mutual interest in further discussions Introducing qualified acquisition opportunities to clients Facilitating the exchange of information from target to client Additional responsibilities in support of the above
