About The Position

The Business Development Account Representative serves as a liaison between customers and Carpenter, providing overall support and total account management. This role involves developing knowledge of customer needs, assessing requirements, and identifying solutions to issues involving scheduling/planning, inventory, pricing, forecast information, and specification interpretation. The representative is accountable for all processes related to the daily activities of their assigned accounts and is responsible for developing and maintaining a network of relationships with internal departments to solve customer problems efficiently.

Requirements

  • Two- or four-year undergraduate degree in business preferred, High School diploma required.
  • Two to three years customer account management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Availability for a hybrid schedule in either Raleigh, NC or Reading, PA required.
  • Understanding of processes required to service accounts.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and database use.
  • Problem-solving skills using standard procedures.
  • Ability to create and maintain customer-specific account documentation.
  • Ability to run established Data Warehouse reports.
  • Proficiency in use of all databases and compliance with SOPs.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison between customer and Carpenter providing overall support and total account management.
  • Ownership and accountability for all processes related to daily activities of assigned accounts.
  • Develop, maintain and grow network of relationships with internal departments.
  • Participate in transactional improvement projects within customer service.
  • Participate in departmental and cross-functional training.
  • Review activity reports and message queue daily and take appropriate action.
  • Develop and maintain customer-specific account documentation.
  • Initiate proactive calls to new and existing accounts.
  • Know and adhere to all corporate, department, quality, and regulatory policies.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
