About The Position

Accountable for managing a business critical processes across a line of business or corporate function. This includes overseeing critical data elements (CDEs) within their assigned Data Domains and overseeing enterprise-wide coordination of Data Domain-related activities as part of the policies, standards, and best practices in alignment with data management and governance. Accountable for onboarding CDEs and business metadata, defining appropriate CDE Data Quality rules and controls for their corresponding Data Domain, maintaining, and populating the Business Glossary and supporting and resolving Data Quality issues as part of the Data Quality Issue Management Group. Prepare data sharing and data delivery agreements for data sharing outside given Business Unit or Corporate Group, and specifically delineate what data is being shared, limitations on use along with restrictions on dissemination to other parties, systems, or applications. Further accountable for defining data privacy rules and aligning them with the Enterprise Privacy Policy in collaboration with Chief Privacy Officer. Define archiving, retention, and data destruction requirements for CDEs for corresponding Business Unit or Corporate functions in collaboration with the CDAO and Chief Privacy Officer.

Requirements

Equivalent combination of advanced education and related experience, which could include any combination of: 8-10 years of experience managing business processes or experience in technical-related decisions on the business side
Ability to translate enterprise strategic planning information into software and data management needs, create business plans, and turn them into effective business solutions.
Executive level communications skills, including, strong negotiation/facilitation/presentation skills and experience negotiating with vendors for relevant products and services.
Significant knowledge of current and emerging application software products and tools
Extensive project management experience to include multi-million dollar projects completed on time, within budget and delivering quality results
Strong analytical and architectural skills
Ability to manage a high volume of internal client relationships
Knowledge of all phases of software engineering life cycle and experience with process improvement models

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's or master's degree in business analytics, computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Demonstrated experience in the regulatory reporting data domain including deep understanding and ability to interpret regulatory reporting system logic and code used to produce regulatory reports such as the Call Report, FRY-9C, FRY14A/M/Q, FR 2052A
Extensive knowledge of Data and Analytics including emerging trends
Strong understanding of banking operations, risk management, and regulatory compliance
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Project management experience and proficiency in managing budgets
Familiarity with machine learning, data analytics, and artificial intelligence in financial institutions
Banking or financial services experience, especially in a particular niche area

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include the definition and validation of a business critical process and the associated critical data elements (CDEs) that support them.
Business Metadata Management:
Onboard new CDEs that are specific to corresponding Business Unit or Corporate Group - collaborate with Technical Data Stewards.
Propose new CDEs and Data Domains to Data Domain Working Group for approval - collaborate with Data Domain Working Group.
Review assigned CDEs and their business metadata on an established frequency basis - collaborate with Metadata Center of Excellence (COE).
Discover and execute CDE change requests - collaborate with Metadata COE; Technical Data Stewards.
Submit CDE change requests for approval to Data Domain Working Group - collaborate with Data Domain Working Group, Metadata COE, and Technical Data Stewards.
Perform business process and traceability mapping - collaborate with Business Unit / Corporate Group representatives, Metadata COE and Technical Data Stewards.
Review trusted source assignments - collaborate with Technical Data Stewards.
Data Quality:
Define Data Quality rules and standards for corresponding Business Unit or Corporate Group.
Collaborate and coordinate with Data Quality Lead and team, Data Quality Issues Management Group, and Data Domain Working Group to align Data Quality rules and standards for corresponding Business Unit or Corporate Group with enterprise-level Data Quality rules and standards - collaborate with Data Quality COE Lead and team, Data Quality Issues Management Group and Data Domain Working Group.
Partner with Technical Business Stewards to enroll and implement Data Quality rules for corresponding Business Unit or Corporate Group into appropriate systems- collaborate with Technical Business Stewards.
Monitor Data Quality activities, track data issues and risks, and develop associated mitigation strategies for corresponding Business Unit or Corporate Group.
Participate in Data Quality Issue Management Group and provide Corporate Group- or Business Unit-specific information - collaborate with Data Quality Issue Management Group.
As member of Data Quality Issue Management Group and/or Data Domain Working Group, escalate Data Quality issues and considerations as necessary to the Enterprise Data Governance Council - collaborate with Enterprise Data Governance Council.
Assist in resolving Data Quality Issues, either as part of Business Unit / Corporate Group or as part of the Data Quality Issue Management Group or as part of the Data Domain Working Group - collaborate with Data Quality Issue Management Group; Data Domain Working Group.
Enterprise Metadata Repository / Metadata Catalogue:
Onboard new CDEs' related business metadata - collaborate with Metadata COE.
Update central metadata repository with business metadata content (business terms, definitions, classifications, and business and Data Quality rules) - collaborate with Metadata COE and Technical Data Stewards.
Review CDEs' metadata on an established frequency basis - collaborate with Metadata COE.
Discover and execute CDE metadata update requests - collaborate with Metadata COE.
Get CDE metadata change requests approved with Data Domain Working Group - collaborate with Data Domain Working Group.
Data Privacy, Security, Retention and Archiving:
Define Data Privacy rules and align them with the Enterprise Privacy Policy in collaborate with Chief Privacy Officer.
Further responsible for defining archiving, retention, and data destruction requirements for CDEs for corresponding Business Unit or Corporate functions in collaboration with the CDAO and Chief Privacy Officer.
Monitor data security for data elements for corresponding Business Unit or Corporate Group.
Report or escalate data privacy issues to Data Privacy Group - collaborate with Chief Privacy Officer and team.
