About The Position

The Business Data Analyst Intern will support the data analytics team in building reports, analyzing data, and helping generate insights for internal teams as well as clients. This role is designed for someone looking to gain hands-on experience working with business data, dashboards, and analytics tools in a commercial business intelligence setting. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and interested in learning how to translate data into clear business insights. This internship is a temporary, part-time position (around 24 hours per week) for the summer.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Basic understanding of data analysis concepts and business intelligence reporting
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to synthesize information rather than only describe data
• Analytical and curious mindset
• Ability to learn quickly and ask questions
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working in a team environment

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)

• Internship or project experience working with data

Responsibilities

• Assist in gathering, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources
• Support the creation of reports, dashboards, presentations, and concise written summaries of trends
• Help analyze customer and business data to identify trends, patterns, and basic business insights
• Work with team members to understand business needs and translate them into data tasks and clear reporting outputs
• Conduct basic research to support data-driven recommendations
• Assist in testing and validating data for accuracy and quality
• Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and business teams on ongoing projects
• Learn and support tools used for reporting and analytics (e.g., Excel, Tableau)
• Help summarize KPI movement in plain business language for internal stakeholders and client-facing materials
