This Position reports to: Senior Business Controller As the Business Controller, this role will report to Operations Controller US/LATAM and is located in Hackettstown, New Jersey. As a Business Controller, you will be responsible for leading local Controlling teams to optimize financial performance for the ABB Hackettstown, NJ facility. Key aspects of this role include the support of effective business decisions by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data in order to evaluate various business alternatives and recommend the most appropriate business solutions. ABB Installation Products provide customers with engineered installation and safety solutions, which are easier to design, install and maintain - providing sustainable and superior performance for continuous operation throughout their life span. This role is open to candidates that will be able to work out of the Hackettstown, NJ facility (#LI-Onsite).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or accounting is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Either 12+ years of experience or advanced theoretical finance, or 10+ years of relevant working experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior Finance role related to Plant / Operations is required.
  • Industry relevant experience is strongly preferred, with a requirement to have previously been in either a plant, manufacturing, or distribution center Finance position.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Serves as the key partner for the relevant business leader in determining strategy for area of responsibility, aligning with the wider Division strategy, implementing and making adjustments in implementation as needed. Maintains consistent communication with other leaders regarding operations, financial, market and customer situations and outlook.
  • Business Planning and Forecasting: Translates strategy into business plans and establishes measurable targets. Oversees the business planning and forecasting process for the area of responsibility and serves as the interface to HQ/Country CFO/Global/Local Division Manager. Evaluates financial implications of various strategic decisions, builds scenarios and recommends actions.
  • Business Performance and Decision Support: Monitors progress achieved and provides insight and analysis to support operational decision-making. Identifies issues and advises management on action plans and operational strategies to resolve. Drives appropriate cost structure, productivity optimization, and capital efficiency. Manages and closely monitors the cash flow and takes action to improve Net Working Capital.
  • Communication with internal stakeholders: Ensures timely and efficient communication with relevant Local/Country/Division/Region Controllers, Accounting Center and other internal customers to identify and discuss issues for improvement of operations, work quality and efficiency for area of responsibility.
  • People leadership and development: Ensures (with HR Business Partner support) that the area of responsibility is organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct/indirect subordinates within HR policies.
