As a Business & Community Liaison at the St. Louis Job Corps Center, you will play a pivotal role in directing the center's outreach and public relations initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to promote and maintain positive relationships with employers and community partners, ensuring compliance with government and management directives. This position is essential for fostering connections that enhance the center's visibility and effectiveness in serving local youth. You will be tasked with developing and monitoring the departmental budget, controlling expenditures, and reviewing and recommending changes to budget authorizations. In addition to budget management, you will maintain linkages with one-stop career centers, ensuring they are informed and updated on Job Corps activities. It will be crucial to impress upon these centers and OA/CTS contractors the importance of providing accurate information about the center. You will also manage the membership and meetings of the Community Relations Council (CRC), maintaining required documentation of meetings and activities related to the CRC. Your role will involve coordinating project-based student volunteers for outreach and recruitment efforts, which will include public speaking engagements, participation in community events, job fairs, high school visits, and work-based learning opportunities for OA contracts. Furthermore, you will assist in coordinating multi-cultural events both on and off the center and serve on the Diversity Committee, contributing to the center's commitment to inclusivity and community engagement.
