About The Position

Candidates who reside within 50 miles of the following locations may be asked to work in person on a hybrid schedule (three days per week): Bloomfield, CT, Chattanooga, TN, Denver, CO, St Louis, MO, or Scottsdale, AZ. This position is responsible for managing the communications strategy, planning and delivery for internal provider-facing teams and providers relevant to strategic, complex, highly visible initiatives that affect health care providers, including affordability projects, ancillary partnerships, integrations, growth platform, and line of business-driven strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in health care communications or a related field.
  • Broad business knowledge of the health care services industry.
  • Experience developing communication strategies and positioning platforms.
  • Experience evaluating business objectives and audience’s needs to develop communications plans and appropriate tactics.
  • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Responsibilities

  • Assess initiatives, outlining dependencies, risks, mitigation options, tactics, timelines, resources, and costs.
  • Participates in project meetings as a provider communication subject matter expert.
  • Advises and works alongside senior leaders and key matrix partners to build optimal provider-focused strategies.
  • Maintains thorough understanding of business/program goals, objectives, impacts, and processes in order to offer unique provider communication solutions.
  • Develop and lead internal and external provider communications strategy, plan and tactics for complex, highly visible initiatives including affordability projects, ancillary partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, integrations, growth platform, and LOB-driven strategic imperatives.
  • Plan a wide variety of communications such as letters, flyers, quick reference guides, presentations, newsletter articles, emails, FAQs, talking points, etc.
  • Build enhanced plans and tactics that engage and prepare provider-facing employees to educate providers.
  • Collaborate with program leadership and the cross-audience communications teams (e.g., client, customer, Sales, Service Ops, Digital) to build integrated communications plans are complementary.
  • Collaborate with internal partners such as Provider Communications team members and Creative Services, to ensure communication development objectives are met.
  • Ensure all communications and materials are consistent with the Cigna text standards, brand and culture, and meet national and state legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage mail list and communication review to secure required sign-offs.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Monitor and evaluate results of communications programs, to adjust and change course as needed.
  • Work with senior leaders and business SMEs to develop internal and external communication strategies and tactics to mitigate or deescalate complex or adverse provider experience issues that create noise and impact Cigna’s service channels or teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or identified.
