Business Career Development Manager – Information Systems The Business Career Development Manager works within the Business Career Center and serves as a key connection point between students, employers, alumni, and faculty. This role focuses on supporting students in the Information Systems program as they prepare for and secure internships and full-time employment, while also building and maintaining relationships with employers and industry partners. This full-time position collaborates closely with internal teams across the college and directly supervises a career services staff member to support student success and employer engagement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or information systems and 10 years of management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with and ability to effectively use AI tools to support work processes, communication, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in information systems or an MBA and 15 years of management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of information systems related to fulfilling tech recruiting needs.
  • Understanding of higher education environment related to information systems/STEM communities.
  • Strong understanding of employer recruiting practices and trends.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and mentor Information Systems students on career development, including resumes, interviewing, networking, and job search strategies.
  • Provide one-one-one and group coaching to support internship and full-time placement outcomes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers to support recruiting efforts and expand student opportunities.
  • Partner with employer engagement teams to coordinate events such as career fairs, info sessions, and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate with faculty, student organizations, and campus partners to align career development efforts.
  • Support and promote strong connections between students, alumni, and employers.
  • Track and support student placement outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
