The Business Banking Relationship Manager cultivates, builds, and manages relationships with a portfolio of small business clients to build a pipeline of new business and increase BMO’s market share. This role involves applying professional consultative sales and business development practices, actively identifying opportunities, and referring to BMO colleagues. The manager proactively develops and executes sales strategies to attract new business clients and expand existing relationships, develops internal and external networks, and generates appointments to grow business results. Key responsibilities include developing and executing business plans for customer retention, identifying prospective customers, cross-selling products, building client rapport, understanding the local market, and delivering exceptional customer service. The position also entails developing and maintaining long-term profitable relationships, expanding wallet share, answering inquiries, providing financial solutions, resolving issues, and making recommendations based on business strategy. The role requires breaking down strategic problems, analyzing data, monitoring performance, coordinating databases, building change management plans, providing input into operational programs, and executing work to deliver timely service. Adherence to security and safeguarding procedures, maintaining confidentiality, identifying risks, and applying the Risk Management Framework are also crucial. The focus is primarily on business/group within BMO, with potential for broader enterprise-wide impact, requiring independent judgment on complex tasks.
