About The Position

The Business Banking Relationship Manager II plays a crucial role in generating new business to meet the goals of the Business Banking line of business, as established by the Head of Business Banking. This position is aligned with the company's organizational growth and profit objectives. The manager will actively assess the needs of potential prospects and clients, providing appropriate financial solutions tailored to their requirements. A key responsibility is to ensure proper loan underwriting and structuring, adhering to the bank's Business Banking and Corporate loan policies, and ensuring that loans are approved in accordance with defined loan authorities and in conjunction with centralized underwriting units. In this role, the manager will make calls on high-potential prospects and business banking customers to sell and service a range of banking needs, including loans, deposits, investments, and wealth management services. Additionally, the manager will promote and cross-sell other bank products and services as customer profiles are reviewed. Managing and monitoring the loan portfolio is essential, including addressing exceptions and past dues in accordance with loan policy, and proactively managing renewals to avoid matured loan facilities. Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction is paramount, which includes ongoing relationship servicing and resolving service issues for clients. The manager will work closely with Relationship Specialists and Business Banking Leaders to achieve sales and service targets. Public relations activities and coordination of contacts within the community, including involvement in local Community Reinvestment Act organizations, are also part of the responsibilities. The manager will coordinate business activities with the branch network to help set business product sales and service objectives, and develop constructive relations with all company departments, including retail banking, commercial banking, centralized underwriting units, and more. Training and compliance are critical aspects of this role, as the manager will adhere to necessary individual and group training for business banking relationship managers regarding sales techniques, calling strategies, presentation skills, and business banking practices. Compliance with all job-relevant legal and regulatory requirements is mandatory, and the manager must maintain current operating knowledge through mandatory compliance training and activities. Finally, actively managing and maintaining a pipeline for borrowing and non-borrowing customer opportunities is essential for success in this position.
