Responsibilities

• Learn the products, processes, networks, and functions to progress to the Business Banking Officer role.
• Assist Business Banking Officers with customer relationships and underwriting new financing transactions.
• Gather necessary business, financial, and personal background information for financial analysis.
• Analyze financial statements according to IB loan policies and credit culture.
• Participate in customer meetings to build meaningful connections and deepen relationships.
• Enhance relationships through customer site visits and annual reviews with Business Banking Officers.
• Understand commercial underwriting principles and practices used in business lending and credit analysis.
• Ensure timely and accurate underwriting of commercial loan requests with guidance from team members.
• Aid in the creation of credit memos and utilize the '5 C's of Credit' for assessing borrower creditworthiness.
• Participate in all sales cycle activities to prepare for the Business Banking Officer role.
• Cross-train and shadow in various banking verticals, including business banking and mortgage services.
• Assist with business development initiatives and represent the bank in the local community.
