About The Position

A Business Banker is a specialized cross-sectional role that is the face of commercial banking for the businesses of Montana. They have an excellent grasp on retail banking knowledge and procedures, while also facilitating communication and relationships between commercial customers and the lending department. Also understanding of banking products and commercial bank accounts sets them up to be effective in selling services such as cash management systems for businesses.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent diploma
  • Montana Notary or ability to obtain in 6 months of employment
  • Physical requirements include: standing for long periods when providing customer service, sitting, walking and must occasionally be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. waist high and 20 lbs. shoulder high.
  • Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to current and prospective commercial banking customers including the following:
  • Meet with commercial customers and provide recommendations and proposals for deposit services.
  • Create accurate and timely CIF records and maintain Jack Henry file information as needed by lenders.
  • Provide loan support by processing payments, advances, loan funding and payoffs.
  • Develop working relationships with lenders and customers to act as a second contact for all retail customer needs.
  • Provide cash management services to new and existing customers including maintenance and on-site training.
  • Provide support for lending staff in all areas of credit administration including exception items, document imaging, generate and maintain reports, and account maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell deposit and cash management products to commercial customers and work in conjunction and support the Digital Banking Manager.
  • Act as a liaison between retail banking staff and lenders to communicate and train on new products, updates, or technology changes.
  • Be a knowledgeable, point of contact for commercial customers when lenders are unavailable regarding retail related issues.
  • Satisfactorily complete all required compliance bank training and comply with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position.
  • Act as a liaison between lenders and loan center staff on all consumer credit requests and become well versed in consumer lending compliance and regulations.
  • Represent American Bank as an active and visual member of the community by committing to local boards and interest groups.
  • Become an active participant in business development activities for the Bank.
  • Satisfactorily complete all required compliance bank training and comply with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed.
