About The Position

The Business Architect at CIBC plays a crucial role in bridging business and technology leaders to ensure alignment between strategy, capabilities, and execution. This position is responsible for developing the Business Architecture practice within the US Technology team, working closely with business leaders to identify strategic capabilities, create future state business architecture, and align technical solutions with business goals. The role involves overseeing the creation and governance of business architecture artifacts and facilitating critical business decisions to achieve strategic objectives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Business Architecture.
• Degree in business, IT, computer science, engineering, finance, or equivalent experience.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of various lines of business through business architecture or product management.
• Strong critical thinking and ability to synthesize information into cohesive business modeling.
• Proven ability to lead and influence teams and stakeholders.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

• Additional training or certifications in business architecture.
• Experience in risk management strategies and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Identify strategic business capabilities needed to enable business goals.
• Create future state business architecture and roadmaps.
• Partner with technology architects to align technical solutions with business imperatives.
• Define, design, and mature business capability architecture for the enterprise.
• Oversee the creation and governance of business architecture artifacts.
• Facilitate critical business decisions by demonstrating impacts and opportunities for business leaders.
• Support business unit's planning process and prioritize initiatives.
• Ensure effective governance activities at the enterprise level.
