Summary Do you love solving problems through innovative technology? GEICO’s State Management Analytics is seeking a highly motivated Business Applications Developer who takes ownership of their work, has a deep understanding of database technologies, and has a track record for implementing new technology. Working closely with stakeholders within State Management and across the organization, you will design and develop robust data structures, reports, and visualizations that support critical analysis and business decisions. You will help create a modern data platform that will enable State Management to develop, deploy, and monitor changes to products and processes faster than ever before.

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative field of study (Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant major)
  • 1 year of relevant work experience (SQL developer and data visualization)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must live within commutable distance from our Chevy Chase, MD office and work a hybrid schedule, including working from the office at least three days per week.
  • Graduate degree in quantitative field of study
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience (SQL developer and data visualization)
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience with dbt and/or Data Vault
  • Experience with SAS, Python, R, Javascript, or similar languages
  • Experience profiling and optimizing database queries
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI reporting and dashboarding
  • Experience using DAX functions and Power Query
