About The Position

The Business and Economic Development Manager for Mega Projects will be responsible for driving strategies that cultivate high-level relationships with the nation’s largest General Contractors, Developers, Architects, Engineers, and Owners. This role is part of the strategic expansion of the Ferguson Large Capital Projects team, focusing on managing large capital projects and providing value-added solutions from planning through execution. The position is remote and requires a strong background in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industries, particularly in megaprojects.

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in the broader Architecture, Engineering and/or Construction (AEC) industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Megaproject lifecycle from Funding to Completion.
  • Executive presence and high-level influencing skills.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record as a key team member and collaborator.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with high-level decision makers within targeted markets.
  • Initiate early-stage engagement with C-suite executives to build strategic relationships.
  • Implement business strategies to build profitable relationships and uncover new revenue opportunities.
  • Establish and drive cross regional/national business development plans.
  • Manage existing customer and vendor relationships.
  • Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.
  • Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements.
  • Drive activity to increase brand awareness across Ferguson customer groups.
  • Assess and manage risks associated with Megaproject deals.
  • Coordinate marketing strategies related to business development efforts.
  • Visit with high-level current and potential clients within the assigned market.
