About The Position

The Business Analyst is responsible for creating and maintaining the production schedule and for identifying opportunities to optimize business processes, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and driving measurable results across the organization by analyzing data, facilitating change management, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Equally important, they will also be responsible for backfilling the logistics position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field or significant manufacturing or industrial experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain the operations schedule to maximize the sawing, drying, planing, and ripping portions of the plant. This will require an understanding of inventory and equipment availability.
  • Compile and record production information including amounts and types of materials used, items produced, and machine times.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of current business processes and equipment to identify areas for improvement, including bottlenecks, redundancies, and inefficiencies.
  • Implement process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Cause Mapping) to optimize workflows and eliminate waste.
  • Monitor and measure the impact of implemented changes to ensure sustained improvements.
  • Become a power user of lumber inventory system (LumberTrack).
  • Lead and manage business improvement projects from initiation to completion, including defining project scope, timelines, budget, and deliverables.
  • Manage project risks and identify mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate project status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to identify trends and patterns.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to visualize performance metrics and track improvement progress.
  • Utilize statistical tools to identify root causes and support decision-making.
  • Develop and execute change management strategies to effectively communicate and implement new processes and procedures.
  • Build stakeholder support and engagement throughout the change process.
  • Provide training and coaching to employees on new processes and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across departments to identify and implement business improvement opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between different teams on improvement initiatives.
