About The Position

This is a project-based position to assist with the legislative branch's transition to the state's new accounting system. We are seeking an experienced business analyst to join our organization. This role will work alongside our technology teams and business partners to define and test requirements for One Washington (OneWA)-related projects and initiatives. Requirements

  • Five+ years of experience in technology business
  • Demonstrated experience taking end-to-end ownership of projects without heavy oversight, including system design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field (we will consider equivalent experience)
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Independently facilitate requirements gathering meetings; asking the right questions to ensure the business problems, needs, and requirements are clearly understood.
  • Achieve mutually agreed-upon outcomes where all stakeholders feel heard and respected.
  • Collaborate and build relationships within and across teams.
  • Take initiative and prioritize tasks with good time-management skills.
  • Deliver fact and evidence-based information in clear and concise communication.
  • Applicants must be a resident of Washington State or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the link between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating high-level business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Partner with the development team on developing product backlog items that ultimately ensure our solutions meet business needs.
  • Create current and future-state business process documentation.
  • Recognize and track business policy and procedure gaps and workarounds.
  • Independently identify testing needs to ensure changes meet business needs without introducing defects.
  • Create test cases, test data, and execute test plans for web applications and APIs.
  • Manage full scope of testing requirements, including but not limited to user acceptance testing, end-to-end testing, and system integration testing.
  • Update and maintain system documentation.
  • Support customer questions related to systems and APIs.
