About The Position

DecisionPoint is seeking a Business Analyst (Watch Officer) to join our team in Atlanta providing On-demand operational, technical, and scientific subject matter expertise support that addresses response-related requirements enabling CDC to rapidly expand its capacity to respond to public health emergencies. The Division of Emergency Operations (DEO), with support of the Office of Readiness and Response (ORR), is actively working to enhance and augment CDC’s approach to preparedness and response for Public Health Emergencies which supports the development and implementation of the CDCReady Responder Program. This is 100% onsite position.

Requirements

  • Junior (BA/BS in Public Health, or similar, with 2+ years work experience, or 4+ years work experience in an Emergency Operations Center environment).
  • 0–2 years of Operations Center experience required.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Mail).
  • Ability to effectively communicate needs at all briefings to assist with operational strategy.
  • Ability to follow precise protocol for disseminating information to callers.
  • Ability to identify gaps in existing resources.
  • Ability to multitask in emergency situations.
  • Ability to be flexible with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Interpersonal communication: telephone, email, and business etiquette.
  • Strong proofreading skill and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow protocols and procedures set forth by a provided set of instructions
  • Proactive problem solver, actively addressing issues that arise through proper channels and within existing parameters

Responsibilities

  • Contractor shall provide support to the 24/7 Emergency Operations Center (EOC) staff.
  • Serve as the communication liaison between the EOC, supported Centers, Institutes and Offices (CIOs), outside federal agencies, health officials, and the public.
  • Screen and triage all response-related calls, and transfer call to the appropriate subject matter expert (SME- Duty Officer/Communications Coordinator).
  • Receive, assess, and report response-related information in accordance with existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols.
  • Become proficient with EOC Database Support System (EDSS) for triage support and response protocol guidance.
  • Become proficient with documentation of response-related calls in the appropriate CDC system, record all calls in the database by type, caller, etc., and record the specific action taken to satisfactorily accommodate the caller.
  • Receive response-related reports and distribute to internal and external partners, as requested.
  • Triage response-related Requests for Information (RFI), for Assistance (RFA), or Resources (RFR) when received.
  • Serve as action officer that follows up on response-related critical actions on behalf of the Duty Officer and/or Senior Operations Officer. Tracks critical actions for monthly report for Duty Officer and Senior Operations Officer.
  • Coordinates with response task forces and teams to meet support requirements.
  • When required, coordinate with the Duty Officer to update protocols and procedures related to triage of incoming response calls.
  • Maintain a Shift Change Log for briefing the oncoming shift and participate in shift change briefs with the Duty Officer.
