About The Position

Headquartered in Wichita, KS AgVantis is a unique and distinct technology solutions and business services organization, providing its solutions and services to both Farm Credit Banks and Member-Owned Associations. We help navigate the complex Farm Credit regulatory environment with solutions and services that are designed by and for Farm Credit Entities to meet their unique business needs. Since our inception in August of 2001, AgVantis has and continues to develop and provide customized financial software and business services to Farm Credit Associations around the United States. The Business Analyst (BA) will assess business processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and drive growth. They will gather business needs, work independently to support projects, and collaborate with the Product Manager, Product Owner, and IT partners to ensure accurate product requirements translation.

Requirements

  • Education includes a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, business management, finance, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or related experience.
  • Partners closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and the engineering team in an Agile/Scrum setup helping with sprint planning, writing user stories with clear acceptance criteria, and keeping the backlog organized.
  • Uses work management platforms (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) to create and track user stories, manage sprints, and maintain project visibility
  • Configure software applications to support business processes and deliver meaningful business outcomes.
  • Skilled in gathering, organizing, and analyzing information to develop clear, actionable business requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills across all levels of the organization (peers, management, C-Suite leadership, and customers).
  • Demonstrated ability to describe and demonstrate new and existing features to foster problem-solving and illustrate the value of the product.
  • Ability to communicate features to customers and strong abilities to influence, keep team members engaged, and drive productive meetings.

  • Moderate travel with overnight stays as required. The need for travel will depend upon projects.
  • Regular attendance is required on this job, with the ability to work a full 8-hour day. Overtime as required to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with loan origination, servicing or loan accounting processes in the Farm Credit System or financial industry.
  • Knowledge of the finance market, regulatory environment, and regulatory compliance pertaining to Farm Credit Associations (FCAs) and banking.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit current state processes and requirements utilizing a variety of techniques such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, site visits, business process descriptions, and task/workflow analysis to gather information about existing processes and business requirements.
  • Critically assess data gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and break down high-level information into detailed, actionable insights and next steps.
  • Develop and validate detailed functional and non-functional specifications, including business processes, GAP analysis, data, business and interface requirements. Produce customized demo and test scripts tailored to each project's unique needs.
  • Effectively challenge assumptions and requirements, ensuring alignment with overall product roadmap and strategy.
  • Build strong, collaborative working relationships with cross-functional IT teams, ensuring alignment on shared priorities, dependencies, and solution design
  • Serve as a liaison between customers, technology teams, and support teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment across all parties.
  • Effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with product goals by prioritizing assignments effectively.
  • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
