Operational Excellence Department Operational Excellence (OE) at Vantage Data Centers is the engine that drives disciplined execution, process rigor, and data-driven insight across North America Operations. Tactically, OE embeds structure and accountability through its three core pillars: Strategic PMO, Process Excellence, and Data Strategy. The Strategic PMO ensures critical initiatives are delivered with enterprise alignment and visibility, using robust governance and prioritization frameworks. Process Excellence standardizes and optimizes workflows, leveraging Lean and continuous improvement (CI) methods to boost efficiency and scalability. Data Strategy empowers the organization with trusted, actionable insights—defining KPI frameworks, operational dashboards, and predictive analytics to inform decision-making and measure operational health. Together, these pillars enable OE to act as the connective tissue between enterprise strategy and operational execution, ensuring initiatives are prioritized, governed, measured, and continuously improved based on value and impact. Position Overview This role will be based in Denver, CO Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Business Analyst intern to join our Strategic Program Office and learn firsthand what it means to drive operational excellence. The Business Analyst intern will be responsible for supporting program delivery, performing data analysis and reporting, developing process documentation, coordinating stakeholder activity, and embodying continuous improvement in everything they do. The Business Analyst intern will help the Strategic Program Office turn strategy into action, reinforce governance, and deliver measurable impact—directly supporting the department’s mission to enable scalable, insight-driven operations that align with Vantage’s broader enterprise goals.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Business Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Business Operations, Business Administration, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or other relevant field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio
  • Technical & Professional Skills Analytical Storytelling: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw actionable insights for program delivery and reporting.
  • Project Management: Understanding of project lifecycle, milestone tracking, and governance frameworks.
  • Systems Thinking: Understand end-to-end process and data flows across Operations, systems, and governance.
  • Baseline Operational Knowledge: Understand the basics of the Operational value chain, including inputs, outputs, dependencies, and how individual teams/functions play into the larger business organization.
  • Prioritization and Resource Planning: Understanding project sizing, ROI- and strategy-based prioritization, and developing/refining capacity models.
  • Process Mapping: Skill in documenting workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing improvements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Organizational Readiness & Communication/Enablement: Drive adoption of change through clear communication, stakeholder mapping, and readiness planning.
  • Curiosity & Continuous Improvement: The desire and willingness to ask questions, dig into the “how” and “why”, and apply lean principles to refine processes and support operational excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with project management tool(s) is preferred
  • Experience developing strategic, economic, or financial analysis frameworks or models is preferred
  • Experience in building and running complex models is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Project Intake & Planning Support Review business case for new project requests, assist in developing scope, parameters, deliverables, and success metrics of proposed projects.
  • Help set up process improvement project plans, timelines, and deliverables in ClickUp.
  • Data Collection & Analysis Compile and analyze program data to track progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Support Process excellence team members in preparation of dashboards and reports using ClickUp, Power BI, Tableau, or Excel to visualize initiative health and performance metrics.
  • Automate and maintain regular reporting of critical Process Excellence efforts.
  • Apply theoretical models in problem-solving and forecasting business objectives.
  • Governance & Documentation Document processes, meeting notes, and action items for program reviews and change control boards.
  • Maintain updated records of project milestones, dependencies, and status in SharePoint and/or ClickUp.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Schedule and support facilitation of meetings with cross-functional teams, capturing key decisions and follow-ups.
  • Support communication efforts by preparing presentations or status updates for leadership.
  • Evangelize and drive change across the Operations organization.
  • Assist in drafting business communications.
  • Process Mapping & Improvement Support the mapping of current workflows using tools like Click Up or Visio to identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks.
  • Participate in Lean/Continuous Improvement assessments and help document recommendations.
  • Portfolio Reporting Assist in preparing portfolio-level reports that summarize process excellence initiative status, risks, and value realization.
  • Leverage ClickUp AI to generate insights on and report on KPIs, such as percentage of initiatives on track or delivered to plan.
  • Define and prepare solutions or proposals to address changing portfolio needs.
  • Continuous Improvement & Learning Review, understand, and analyze effectiveness and efficiency of current operational processes.
  • Gather feedback from project teams to identify areas for improvement in operational processes.
  • Recommend new strategies and industry best practices or improving operational processes.
  • Contribute to retrospectives and lessons learned sessions to refine delivery practices.
  • Conduct market research and develop business cases for new technology or systems to improve Operational Excellence.
  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.
