This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of specialists Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst-Business Intelligence III to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced data analytics solutions to drive business decisions and improve operational efficiency as it relates to Manufacturing Operations for the New Glenn Vehicles. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven insights and help shape our strategic direction. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors degree in data sciences and analytics, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science & analytics or a related field.
  • Proven experience with machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data visualization.
  • Technical Skills: AI/ML experience: feature engineering in Spark, model training and deployment, MLflow/MLOps, or agent-based solutions for analytics workflows.
  • Statistics for manufacturing (DOE, SPC), Lean/Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Databricks, or Power BI to create insightful dashboards.
  • Utilize programming languages such as SQL or python for data analysis and modeling.
  • Databricks (SQL, Python/PySpark)
  • Tableau and Power BI
  • Git, CI/CD, orchestration (e.g., Databricks Workflows)
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Manufacturing Operations a plus.
  • Master’s degree in data sciences and analytics, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience with Python and database management.
  • Experience with TensorFlow, Pickle, Numpy, Seaborn, etc.
  • Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., CAD, CAM) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Modeling: Conduct in-depth analysis of large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop and implement data solutions that support predictive leading indicators/KPIs
  • Utilize statistical methods and data visualization techniques to present findings in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Develop and implement dashboards, tools, reports, and other other creative methods of organizing, transforming, and delivering acitonable insights to the production floor.
  • Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in SQL and Python/PySpark to ingest, transform, and publish trusted datasets (bronze/silver/gold).
  • Own table architecture and curation in Databricks, including schema design, partitioning, optimization, data quality checks, documentation, and security/governance.
  • Lead automation initiatives; prototype and operationalize AI/automation solutions to reduce manual effort and cycle time.
  • Extract and interpret visual information from engineering drawings and computer models to inform business decisions.
  • Analyze and sanitize complex, fuzzy datasets to extract targeted insights and drive actionable outcomes.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Communicate complex analytical concepts and results to non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure business systems data is efficient and reliable.
  • Tool & Technology: Work with data visualization tools such as Tableau/Power BI/Databricks to create insightful dashboards.
  • Utilize programming languages such as SQL and python for data analysis and modeling.
  • Maintain and improve data infrastructure to support ongoing analytics efforts.
  • Innovation & Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data science and analytics.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve data processes and analytics capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for data science within the organization.
