About The Position

The Business Analyst II at Central New Mexico Community College is responsible for defining project scope and objectives based on user needs and a comprehensive understanding of business systems and technology. This role involves collaborating with software development teams to analyze requirements, document processes, and enhance software applications. The analyst will also provide insights to improve product quality and inform business decisions through data analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related experience including systems implementation experience.
  • Associate's Degree and four (4) years of related experience including systems implementation experience.
  • PMI Professional Certification in Business Analysis (PBA) and one (1) year of related experience including systems implementation experience.
  • Other industry-recognized certifications related to the duties and responsibilities of the position and six (6) years related experience including systems implementation experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Banner, Salesforce, or Workday ERP configuration and reporting.
  • Knowledge of course planning and degree evaluation tools.
  • Experience with SQL, Argos, SAS, Toad or SQL Developer report writer tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develops or modifies procedures to solve complex business problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations.
  • Possesses full technical knowledge of all phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of technology applications.
  • Develops and maintains written project documentation including best practices, processes, and project scope.
  • Creates test plans, user stories, use cases, and business process models in collaboration with users.
  • Documents technological systems, applications, and web projects including modifications and enhancements.
  • Participates in uncovering business goals and identifying solutions.
  • Develops user-friendly procedures and guidelines, providing training for end-users.
  • Enhances reports to ensure data accuracy and integrity in collaboration with users and subject matter experts.
  • Conducts data analyses and ad-hoc reporting using research and query tools.
  • Recommends solutions for automating and enhancing business processes based on functional work requirements.
  • Responsible for operational functions within the business unit including system maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Works closely with IT staff to define requirements for program creation and maintenance.
  • Assists in the review, testing, and implementation of business systems upgrades or patches.
  • Participates in planning discussions to offer technical and practical business perspectives.
  • Identifies and delivers required metrics by managing multiple data sources.
  • Continually reviews processes for efficiency improvements and reduction of non-value added activities.
  • Generates and maintains standard reports providing insight into operational statistics and performance.
  • Participates in software application development and interface creation.
  • Researches and analyzes system problems, testing systems and database functions for proper operation.
  • Monitors student database for data accuracy and integrity, providing recommendations on data issues.
  • Coordinates data entry standards and provides technical support and training for ERP, SIS, LMS end-users.
