About The Position

Ellucian is seeking to hire a dynamic Business Analyst (finance/accounting/ERP exp) to serve as an IT Business Partner with expertise in accounting, finance, procurement, taxation, and audit. This role will focus on bridging the gap between business operations and IT to drive technological solutions that optimize financial and operational processes in our software business.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the software industry, with a strong understanding of accounting, finance, procurement, taxation, and audit functions.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and other financial management software.
  • Proven experience as an IT business partner to drive technological solutions for financial and operational processes.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, taxation regulations, audit practices, and procurement workflows.
  • Experience in leveraging technology to improve business functions in finance, procurement, and tax compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable IT solutions.
  • Understanding internal controls and SOX compliance as it relates to financial systems.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the point of contact as a business expert in finance, accounting, procurement, taxation, and audit to gather requirements and operational needs from the Business teams.
  • Analyze current business processes, identify inefficiencies and collaborate with the IT development team to implement technology-driven solutions to bring in improvement.
  • Support the development and maintenance of financial reporting dashboards and KPIs using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Provide analysis of financial data and report key insights to senior leadership, helping drive informed business decisions.
  • Ensure that IT systems and financial processes (e.g., SAP) meet audit requirements and comply with industry regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Collaborate with audit teams to facilitate data gathering, reporting, and system access during internal and external audits.
  • Participate in testing new systems and processes to ensure they meet business needs and technical specifications.
  • Develop training materials and provide training to users on new systems or enhancements.
