About The Position

The AACSB-accredited College of Business at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions for general business courses. The number of these temporary, part-time, non-tenure track academic positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the program. As such, not everyone in the applicant pool for this position will be contacted and/or selected to teach. Responsibilities include teaching 3 - 9 credit hours, with courses such as Introduction to Business, Business Communication, Career Planning, and Global Corporate Social Responsibility. Most assigned affiliate class sections are on campus. Duties also include participating in program assessment activities, being available for consultation with students, and providing instruction consistent with course objectives. Candidates need to be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Master’s degree in the field in which the faculty member is assigned to teach.
  • Professional experience that is current at the time of hire, substantial in terms of duration and level of responsibility, and clearly linked to the field in which the faculty member is expected to teach, normally no less than ten consecutive years with increasing levels of responsibility and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 3 - 9 credit hours.

  • Participate in program assessment activities, as assigned.
  • Be available for consultation with students.
  • Work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
  • Grade student work and provide robust feedback in a timely manner.
  • Address student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
  • Provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed.
  • Maintain office hours.
  • Comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
