About The Position

The Business Affairs Manager is responsible for overseeing the legal, financial, and contractual aspects of Ulta Beauty’s marketing partnerships and initiatives. This role ensures that all brand campaigns, collaborations, and promotional activities comply with company policies, protect brand integrity, and meet legal requirements. This role partners closely with Marketing, Creative, Merchandising, Legal, and Procurement teams to ensure that Ulta Beauty’s marketing activities are executed seamlessly, responsibly, and with excellence.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Law, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business affairs, marketing operations, contract management, or related functions.
  • Proven experience managing influencer and brand partnership agreements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in contract management and workflow tools (e.g., DocuSign, Airtable, Asana).
  • Demonstrated success collaborating cross-functionally with creative, legal, and procurement teams.

  • Experience in retail, fashion or beauty is a preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and execute all marketing-related contracts with vendors, agencies, talent, photographers, stylists, influencers, production partners, and retail collaborators.
  • Maintain accurate records of all agreements and proactively communicate timelines, renewal dates, and usage restrictions.
  • Ensure all marketing materials, campaigns, and promotions adhere to legal, financial, and brand compliance standards.
  • Manage usage rights, term lengths, renewals, and clearances for creative assets, including music, photography, talent, associate-generated and user-generated content.
  • Collaborate with Legal to ensure all agreements meet compliance and business requirements, and partner with Production, PR, Creative, Loyalty and Marketing teams to align on deliverables, timelines and usage rights.
  • Review marketing concepts for claims accuracy, intellectual property usage, and proper disclosures.
  • Negotiate and support the structuring of co-branded partnerships to balance opportunity with brand and legal protections.
  • Develop and maintain systems to track contracts, payments, rights expirations, and key deliverables.
  • Create and enhance marketing compliance processes and best practices; refine workflows between teams to drive efficiency and consistency in contract review, approval, and document management.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement contract management tools to strengthen Ulta’s tracking and compliance capabilities.
