The Sales Representative is responsible for maintaining relationships with current accounts and creating new opportunities with accounts that are not currently using our services or products for less than 100% of their transportation needs. They are responsible for marketing, promoting, and profitably selling new and used school buses, camera systems, and other aspects of the dealership to existing and potential customers. They work with customers to determine what they want and need, create solutions, and ensure a smooth sales process from the receipt of the Purchase Order through the delivery process and after the sale follow ups.   • Create business opportunities with customers by scheduling face to face appointments, phone calls, and/or email or social media.
  • Work internally with the General/Sales Manager, Sales Coordinator, Parts Manager or Parts Department as well as Service/Body Manager, Warranty Administrator and supporting staff to make sure all aspects of our core business is being represented to customers.
  • Work to find new leads through referrals, monthly Superintendent and Transportation Directors Meetings, Group Luncheons, Trade Shows and Conferences, etc.
  • Be a self-motivated person as there is substantial unsupervised travel involved in covering your assigned territory. Up to 70% of the time will be spent traveling from customer to customer so time management and scheduling of appointments is high priority.
  • Develop presentations that can be presented to customers explaining the advantages and benefits of the products we offer, our dealership, and safety features.
  • Attend training meetings on a regular basis to keep up with product advances.
  • Review all bid/quotes to the customer to ensure correct and accurate proposals will be represented without errors.
  • When bids are due, it is the Sales Representative responsibility to assist in preparing the bid package when applicable, turn the bid in on time if not mailed, be present at bid openings, and to report bid results back to management in a timely manner.
  • Excellent Organizational Skills.
  • Strong Written and Verbal Skills, must be able to make presentations in front of small or large groups.
  • Create and use Power Point Presentations, be sufficient in Word Doc, Excel Spreadsheet, and general computer skills as needed.
  • Must be able to effectively negotiate.
  • Must have a clean driving record, and must be able to acquire a proper commercial driver’s license and endorsements/restrictions to allow for demonstrations of our product as needed.
  • Thoroughness and follow through from start to finish on finalizing deals.
  • Flexible with work load.
  • Sales reps sometimes have to work unusual hours: school board meetings; before and after hours meetings with customers; trade shows over weekends; and overnight stays while out on the road making customer visits.
