About The Position
The work in this class involves initial training and the independent, safe, and efficient operation of the City's passenger buses on regular or special routes, including collecting fares and providing information to passengers. Bus Operators are the public-contact representatives for the City's transit system. As such, they exercise a high degree of caution and courtesy in the transportation of passengers.
Requirements
- Applicants must meet the basic threshold minimum requirement stated in the City's supplemental questionnaire.
- Applicants for the position of Bus Operator must successfully pass all elements of the hiring process, including a driving record check, background check, pre-employment medical exam and drug screen.
- This position is considered safety sensitive under Federal law.
