Bus Operator - Full-Time
About The Position
The Bus Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a large passenger motor vehicle and transporting passengers to specific destinations within the general area. This position is responsible for performing prescribed pre/post-operational safety maintenance checks; accumulating and recording statistics for daily reports on fixed route service; and must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills. This position could be subject to shift rotation resulting in shift differential. Regular, non-disruptive, and reliable attendance is an essential job duty, as well as the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Requirements
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
- At least two years of driving experience
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of DOT/CDL regulations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work with and learn technology
- Ability to succeed in a diverse working environment
Nice To Haves
- CDL Class B or higher with Passenger Endorsement
- Experience operating a large 35 and 40-foot transit vehicle on city streets in fixed route service
