About The Position

People Incorporated is seeking a responsible Bus Monitor. This position is responsible for the safety of program participants while busing to and from the People, Incorporated Preschool or other People, Incorporated childcare centers, abiding by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) guidelines and protocol

Requirements

  • Knowledge of transportation services preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to legally and safely operate a vehicle, including maintaining a valid drivers license.
  • Ability to assist individuals getting in and out of handicap accessible or other vehicle.
  • Ability to meet licensure requirements including CPR/FA (training is provided) and required health records.
  • Ability to follow protocol and instruction.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with others.
  • A qualifying criminal background check, driving record and a valid drivers license required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete vehicle inspections after each trip including a physical walk through in addition to the required walk through of the driver.
  • Follow direction from Driver regarding assignments.
  • This position provides the opportunity to obtain 7D licensure at no added cost to the employee.
  • Enforce safety rules and perform first aid.
  • Maintain passenger log with pick up and drop off times and immediately report any discrepancies.
  • Sign program participants on and off the bus using the sign in/out sheet and authorized person(s) pick up sheet, and requiring proper photo I.D.
  • Solve problems and manage behavior when necessary
  • Report observed changes in program participants activity and/or health.
  • Document incidents on an incident report form.
  • Attend all trainings and educational programming as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in all staff meetings and required training sessions, including in-service training, as scheduled.
  • Maintain all program and Agency required trainings.
