About The Position

The position of Bus Monitor involves assisting the bus driver in maintaining discipline on the school bus and ensuring the safety of students during transportation. The work year aligns with the North Branford Schools' calendar, and there may be additional opportunities available during the summer. The salary for this position is $16.16 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with school-aged children

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in maintaining discipline on school bus
• Monitor and assist students while bus is in motion
• Ensure that seat belts, harnesses, child seats and wheelchair restraints are secured as required
• Assist parents and school personnel with safe loading and unloading of students
• Coordinate seating of students as required by CT Transportation Guidelines and additional state or district guidelines
• Communicate with school personnel concerning student needs, medical history and behavior as appropriate
• Maintain current knowledge of Emergency Evacuation procedures
• Attend training as required
• Maintain regular attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned
