About The Position

Purpose and Scope: Drive diesel, gasoline, or electric-powered transit bus to transport passengers over established route. Perform work in other classifications when incidental but necessary to accomplish work assignment. Job Duties and Essential Responsibilities: Maintain training, certifications, licenses, permits, etc. required for performance of assigned tasks. Maintain logs and record, as required. Operate various types of buses to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule. Regulate heating, lighting and ventilating systems for passenger comfort. Comply with local traffic regulations. Report schedule delays or accidents. Inspect bus and check gas, oil and water before departure. Load and unload baggage. Inspect bus at the start of shift and at end of shift. Ensure bus interior is swept, clean of debris, and litter before and after every tour. Clean windows to ensure visibility before every tour.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Commercial driver’s license (CDL) B with Passenger endorsement and Air Brakes required.
  • Must have an excellent driving history/record.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain required clearances/badges as required by program and position
  • Must have the ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written in an effective manner.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Must adhere to all KSC/CCSFS energy management conservation regulations, collective bargaining agreements, security safety, hurricane and other specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of the Contract, working within the limits of established policy and guidelines.
  • This position involves physical work and the ability to perform a variety of tasks, including pushing, pulling and moving objects up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, climb, walk, reach overhead, kneel, bend and stoop.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
  • Comply with all applicable safety and health-related rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Work safely themselves and help their teammates work safely.
  • Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Help the organization maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
