About The Position

Responsibilities and Duties

Safe Transportation
Transport students to and from school, field trips, sporting events, and other off-campus activities.
Follow a planned route and schedule, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus.
Ensure the safety of all students while on the bus.
Student Management
Assist students with getting on and off the bus, including those with disabilities.
Verify permissions for students riding home with friends.
Maintain discipline and a safe environment on the bus.
Vehicle Maintenance
Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route.
Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the appropriate authorities.
Professional Conduct
Obey all traffic laws and regulations.
Attend safety meetings and training as required.
Maintain a professional demeanor and interact positively with students and parents

This job involves sitting for long periods as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing. Able to work a flexible schedule. Must be able to travel, enter, and exit a vehicle without assistance and withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions. Random drug tests may be performed.

Requirements

• Possess a current MS driver;'s license and Commercial Driver's License Class B with a school bus endorsement required
• You must meet specific physical, hearing, and vision requirements as outlined by the Mississippi Department of Education. This includes passing annual physical examinations required
• Be able to pass a background check required
• Successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment required
• High School diploma or its equivalent required
