About The Position

Operates a school bus in a legal and safe manner, transporting students to and from school and activities away from the school, as directed by performing the following duties under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Completion of bus driver training course
• Able to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) with class B and school bus and passenger endorsements
• Job related experience and/or training
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• Criminal Justice/Fingerprint Clearance
• Current Washington State Driver's License
• CDL Class B with school bus and passenger endorsements
• Pass DOT Physical, Drug and Alcohol Test and Physical Capability Exam
• Blood Borne Pathogen Training
• References provided must complete the automated survey they will receive via email, and/or provide a reference letter in order for the job application to be complete.

Responsibilities

• Drives the bus on assigned routes in a legal and safe manner.
• Instructs students, teachers and coaches in emergency bus evacuation procedures (conducts drills twice a year).
• Instructs students in proper bus conduct.
• Reports misconduct on bus through established district procedures.
• Operates two-way radio as needed.
• Conducts pre-trip and post-trip bus inspection to insure that all parts are operating and the bus is safe.
• Fuels the bus as needed.
• Cleans the interior of the bus daily.
• Cleans exterior of bus weekly.
• Completes daily log forms and other required paper work accurately and promptly.
• Must be willing to work with special needs students.
• Other duties may be assigned.
