Responsible for operating bus route in a safe, organized, punctual manner. Must be able to perform job duties in all kinds of weather conditions. Responsible for care and cleanliness of vehicle. Must perform pre-trip inspection before each trip and a post trip inspection at the end of end of each trip. Must effectively manage passenger behaviors in accordance with each person’s approved Behavior Support Plan or ISP/IEP in the school/bus route vehicle. Must attend state mandated driver training annually as well as other in-services required of drivers. Responsible for all records and reports required by agency/department. Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors. Must be able to relate effectively, professionally, and appropriately with caregivers, staff, and the public in a multicultural/multiracial community. Hours worked must not exceed 40 a week, unless an emergency occurs and written approval is given by the Transportation Coordinator and Division Director. Any Bus Driver working more than 40 hours a week, without prior written authorization from the Coordinator and Director, will be subject to progressive disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
