About The Position

This is the second of five levels in the Transportation series. Incumbents transport customers in a large passenger vehicle. Responsibilities may include driving a large bus or van on an assigned route; inspecting assigned vehicle for cleanliness and safety; performing routine, minor vehicle maintenance; selling tickets and collecting fares; and maintaining records of activities. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A POSITION THAT MAY INCLUDE WORKING SOME EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS. THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN THROUGH MAY 30, 2025, OR UNTIL FILLED.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License with 'P' Endorsement.
• No experience needed.

Responsibilities

• Drives a bus to transport riders to applicable locations, including special events.
• Performs pre- and post-bus inspection activities to identify maintenance needs.
• Performs routine cleaning activities.
• Sells tickets and collects fares.
• Responds to inquiries or requests for information from citizens and/or other interested parties regarding transportation, route, and/or scheduling policies, procedures, and/or other related information.
• Relays traffic hazards to dispatchers.
• Prepares and maintains a variety of operational records and reports.
• Performs other work as required.
